Wellington dream-folk band, French for Rabbits, return to European audiences in October for another highly-anticipated 14-date tour.
Based around the talent of New Zealand musician Brooke Singer, and John Fitzgerald (vocals, guitar) - who formed as a duo in 2011 – the pair will be accompanied on the road by a full band.
This includes top Kiwi musicians, drummer Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa (Glass Vaults), and multi-instrumentalists Ben Lemi (Trinity Roots) and Penelope Esplin (Prophet Hens).
French for Rabbits display an ambient, ethereal and intimate sound that was described by the UK Sunday Star Times as, “evoking both escapist lost weekends on sunlit shores and more melancholy-infused desolate landscapes”.
Previous European tours have already captured the hearts of fans, and the band has gained a respectable following after opening for admired songwriter Agnes Obel, featuring twice on The Vampire Diaries, and garnering millions of listens online.
The month-long tour will see them appear throughout Europe in October where they have show dates in the UK, Germany, and, for the first time, in Denmark.
This provides the perfect lead up to the international release of their new album, THE WEIGHT OF MELTED SNOW, which was launched to high praise in New Zealand earlier this year.
UK audiences will get a rare chance to be transported by the band’s cinematic, ghostly yet tender songs in the run of October shows, promoted by Live Nation and DF Concerts.
