Celebrated New Zealand singer-songwriter Delaney Davidson returns with his ninth solo album, SHINING DAY, and a string of European tour dates.
Featuring special guest appearances from Neil Finn and SJD, the album includes co-writes with Nathaniel Rateliff (Strange I Know) and SJD (Shining Day).
Ever the troubadour, Davidson says; “these songs were snatched out of the air in Los Angeles, Denver, London, Bern, and Lyttleton, New Zealand”.
This time around, he has signed with Glass Records Redux, an unexpected moment which “dropped out of the sky”.
“One minute I was planting a vegetable garden and the next thing I was signing off the artwork, pestering SJD to help finish the mix and looking at that old suitcase, wondering if there were enough pages in the passport,” he says.
Davidson’s highly-anticipated return to the UK in May follows a touring tradition that began seven years ago with the UK release of his Self Decapitation (2011).
In 2012, he launched Bad Luck Man, and the I’m A Fool To Want You EP, all on Voodoo Rhythm. He has since worked with Marlon Williams and has produced Tami Neilson albums. Neil Finn invited Davidson to play guitar with him for The Infinity Sessions live broadcast in 2017.
