Norwegian-born, London-based artist, Liv Austen, today (July 20) launches her brand-new single, Window Shopping, a track she co-produced.
The song, which was recorded with producer Jon Wright, was mastered at Sterling Sound (Kacey Musgraves' Golden Hour, Carrie Underwood's Cry Pretty).
Austen describes her music as “part Scandi-pop, part UK singer/songwriter, and part Nashville country”.
The new single, Window Shopping, was written with young songwriter Kaity Rae, and features catchy melody hooks.
Often mentioned as a favourite of The Shires' Ben Earle, who has supported both artists' careers from early on, he also wrote Austen's 2016 single Over, which was released by Decca Records.
On Window Shopping, Austen and Rae say they bonded over their frustration with how superficial a lot of people are when it came to looking for love. They aimed to challenge listeners to live life authentically, and to "try someone on", rather than just tick boxes, and judge a potential date from a photo.
"It is always a goal of mine to write something that's fun and catchy on the surface, but holds a much deeper meaning for anyone who listens closely to the lyrics," Austen says.
The new single Window Shopping is out on July 20, 2018 through NUA Entertainment.
