Independent New Zealand country artist, Ainslie Allen, has launched a touching video tribute to her mother.
‘My Mum’ was written by Ainslie and brought to life by multi-award winning producer, Ben Edwards.
It tells the story of growing up as a young girl with an inspirational single mother who battled to buy their first home and make a better life for her and her siblings.
The track was mastered by Chris Chetland, and features Phil Doublet on Guitars and Dobro, and Ross McDermott on Steel and Bass.
As the 2018 New Zealand Entertainer of the Year, the singer-songwriter is a familiar face to Kiwis, having started out on our screens on McDonald’s Young Entertainers.
She has since created an impressive performance CV that includes, entertaining New Zealand and Australian troops in East Timor on a mercy mission with comedians, Cal Wilson, Mike King, Ewan Gilmore, Te Radar and Brendhan Lovegrove, through to singing the National Anthem for the All Blacks, Silver Ferns, South Africa's Springbok, the Wallabies, and French rugby teams.
She also toured Hawaii with Elvis Presley’s TCB band, and performed before a crowd of 250,000 at New Zealand’s biggest outdoor concert.
Ainslie’s soulful version of the New Zealand National Anthem has also been produced and marketed by the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs.
After winning last year’s New Zealand Entertainer of the Year, and attending this year’s CMAA Academy at Tamworth, Ainslie now brings her new release ‘My Mum’ to the world.
